Coming to work is a joy and I feel so grateful to be able to work within this community from my own garden based studio.

I moved to Whitehorse in 2006 and absolutely love it as a place to live and a place to practice. I enjoy meeting people from all walks of life and meeting you all wherever you are at on your healing journey.

I am a graduate of the International College of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Vancouver, where I completed a 4 year Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine program in 2003. I am regulated by the government of British Columbia’s College of Complementary Health Professionals as a Registered TCM Practitioner, which includes certification as both a Registered Acupuncturist and a Registered Chinese Herbalist.

I came to Chinese Medicine following my BA in Cultural Anthropology at UBC, where I focused my studies on the healing systems of different cultures and their relationships with the natural world. That background plus the loss of my father led me to appreciate the value of preventative medicine and the power of traditional knowledge. Over the years I have furthered my education and learning through extensive studies to expand my knowledge and skills. There are so many approaches, techniques and styles within the field of Chinese Medicine and I love learning new ways to help my clients and myself.

Amongst my colleagues, I am proud to be a part of the “Jing Fang Revolution” (we also affectionately call ourselves “Classical Chinese Medicine Nerds”) who are extremely passionate (one may say obsessive) in our pursuit of learning and honouring the knowledge of our teachers and the lineages before them. As I do not speak Mandarin or read Chinese myself, I am grateful to the teachers and mentors who have immersed themselves in the language and chosen to share the deep wisdom of Chinese Medicine across time, culture and language with me. I have the privilege of working with my current mentor Dr Eran Even (of Dr Huang Huang’s lineage), and have had exceptional teachers in Dr Edward Neil, Dr Suzanne Robidoux (Dr Feng Shi Lun, Dr Hu Xi Shu), Sharon Weizenbaum, Dr Wei Chieh Young (Master Tong), and the late Dr Richard Tan over the past decades.

When not immersed in Chinese Medicine, I love time in nature whether that is in the forests, on the rivers and lakes in a canoe, picking berries and mushrooms, or out on the ski trails. Gardening brings me great joy and satisfaction on the long days of our northern Summers. Experiencing new places and cultures through travel, reading or on screen is another of my loves. And between all of that, savouring the daily joys of spending time with my daughter and husband and enjoying our life together here in the beautiful Yukon, as a guest on the lands of the Kwanlin Dün First Nation and Ta’an Kwäch’än Council.

I treat all ages from infants to elders and enjoy treating a wide range of conditions. I determine which combination of treatments is best suited to your conditions, needs and preference, and offer a full range of techniques including:

  • Acupuncture

  • Herbal Medicine

  • Moxibustion

  • Acupressure

  • Cupping

  • Laser Therapy

As well as offering a Traditional Chinese Medicine perspective on diet, lifestyle, stress management and the emotions.
